Environment

The majority of the operating companies now comply with the rules and regulations laid down by the international ISO 14001 environmental standard and REACH, the European regulations governing chemicals. The environmental effects are taken into account in the decision-making process relating to investments in production companies. The environmental policy is implemented through the operating companies, which put the general principles into practice. Areas of particular attention include recycling, air and water purification, energy efficiency and minimising the use of harmful chemicals and CO2 emissions.

The annual reports describe in detail the various environmental activities that were undertaken by the business units to this end in the past years.
